(1) May 12, 2011, Volunteer Team of Agricultural Bank of China Hong Kong Branch was formally established. Mr. Henry Sin, Deputy General Manager of Hong Kong Branch, was appointed as the captain of the team. At the inaugural ceremony, all volunteer team members made a solemn oath for the mission of “delivering love, promoting civilized culture and contributing to the society” They will adhere the mission of reaching out the local community and caring for the society and aim at helping the underprivileged, encouraging cooperation and mutual assistance across neighborhood in order to promote community harmonization.
（2）In August 2011, Hong Kong Branch Volunteer Team and Caritas Jockey Club Integrated Service for Young People - Lei Muk Shue jointly held our first volunteer activities- Cultural Outings with Hong Kong Ethnic Minorities. In the outings, volunteers of Hong Kong Branch and participants from ethnic minority (mainly Pakistani and Indian families) enjoyed outdoor activities and beautiful scenery in Sai Kung. Knowledge about the history and culture of Hong Kong was enhanced through active interactions. Understanding between different cultures and languages had also been promoted with joy and laughter.
（3）In November 2011, we had successfully completed a sharing and learning project with Caritas-Hong Kong Social Service Centre for students from Marymount Secondary School. Through workshops striving to help students understand the actual operation of the business world as well as the latest financial model in an international financial center, students’ sense of cooperation and leadership skills had been enhanced. At the same time, effort had also been paid in promoting “new learning experiences " for secondary school students which is required under the new academic structure.
(4) In December 2011, under the support of Hong Kong Caritas, our volunteer team showed our care to the old and weak by paying a Christmas visit to the elderly who live alone in Sham Shui Po public estate. On behalf of the Bank, our volunteers sent the elderly daily necessities including food, oil, etc.. Through cordial conversation, our volunteers got more understanding about the elderly’s current living conditions and some practical difficulties they had been facing.
（5）When strong typhoon Vicente hit Hong Kong in July 2012, 150 tonnes of “polypropylene” plastic pellets scattered into the neighbouring sea. In August, our bank mobilized 2 teams of volunteers in two consecutive weekends to salvage and clean up the plastic pellets in the beach of Cheung Chau and Lamma Isand.
6）In 2012, the Bank provided sponsorship and support to a visual arts project called “Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining” organized by Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation. Under the project, over 60 young people living in long-term illness were invited to participate in a series of visual arts workshops to let them experience art creation and help them boost their self-confidence. During March to August, with help and inspiration provided by four local artists, volunteers from our Bank worked closely with participates in nine workshops to create paper light shades, capsule sculptures and light installation boxes to visualize the theme of “Light” and the shining zest for life in these youths. In September 2012, a visual arts exhibition displaying participates’ artwork were held in Harbour City for a week.
