Remark: This material is for reference only and is intended to be distributed in Hong Kong only. Please refer to the policy documents and provisions issued by China Taiping and China Life for details (including but not limited to insured items and coverage, detailed terms, key risks, conditions, exclusions, policy cost and fees) of the insurance plan.
Important Notes
1. Life insurance products are not equivalent to time deposits, they are not protected deposits, nor protected by the Deposit Protection Scheme in Hong Kong.
2.Customers should not apply for any of the insurance policies based on the above information alone. You should read and understand the details of the insurance plan(s) (including but not limited to detailed terms, conditions, coverage and exclusions) before any enrollment to assure that the insurance products meet your personal needs. Specific details, terms and conditions applicable to insurance products are set out in respective insurance policies that are to be issued by relevant insurance companies.
3. If you are not satisfied with the selected policy, you have the right to cancel it within the cooling off period and obtain a refund of any premiums paid (less any market value adjustment where the insurer has the right to apply in the case of a non-linked single premium life insurance policy). A written notice signed by you should be received by the insurer's Hong Kong Main Office within the cooling off period (that is, 21 days after the delivery of the policy or issue of a notice (informing you or your representative about the availability of the policy and the expiry date of the cooling off period), whichever is the earlier). After the expiration of the cooling off period, if you cancel the policy before the end of the term, the projected total cash value may be less than the total premium you have paid.
4. If a policyholder discontinues and/ or surrenders the policy in the early policy years, the amount of the benefits he/ she will get back may be considerably less than the amount of the premiums he/ she has paid. Parts of the past, current, projected and/ or potentialbenefits and/ or returns (e.g. bonuses, dividends, interests) presented are not guaranteed and are for illustrative purposes only. The actual future amounts of benefits and/ or returns may be lower than or higher than the current quoted benefits and/ or returns.
5. This material shall not construe as an offer to sell or a solicitation of an offer or recommendation to purchase or sale or provision of any products of China Taiping and China Life outside Hong Kong. China Taiping and China Life will be responsible for providing insurance covers and handling claims under their respective policies of the insurance products issued and underwritten by them.
6. In respect of an eligible dispute (as defined in the Terms of Reference for the Financial Dispute Resolution Centre in relation to the Financial Dispute Resolution Scheme) arising between the Bank and you out of the selling process or processing of the related insurance product transaction, the Bank will enter into a Financial Dispute Resolution Scheme process with you; however any dispute over the contractual terms of the insurance products should be resolved between China Taiping / China Life and you directly.
Should there be and discrepancy between the Chinese and English versions of this material, the English version shall prevail.
